On a recent trip to Montauk Point this summer, my wife and I were driving along East Lake Drive and spotted these American flags blowing in the breeze. I immediately pulled over and took a series of photos. The first image is the one you see above. I hadn’t changed my camera setting from my previous shoot and the image was grossly over exposed. At first I thought that it would be deleted, until later on that day when I looked at it again and realized it may be worth processing. After a little post processing, I was glad that I didn’t delete it. This is a great reason why you shouldn’t quickly delete an image during a shoot until you have time to properly evaluate it later on.

This image was taken with my Canon 5 D Mark II camera and a Canon 70-200f/ 2.8 “L” lens. I waited for the flags to unfurl before shooting. Post processing in Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS 6.
