In Long Island City, New York you can find the landmark Pepsi Cola sign. At night it is all lit up and can easily be seen from across the East River in Manhattan. You need to get much closer if you want a good photo.
This photo was taken with my Canon 5D Mark II camera and a 17-40mm Canon “L” lens. A tripod is a must to prevent shaking. You don’t need a long exposure since the sign is pretty bright. Probably under 1-2 seconds. Post processing in Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS-5.
