This photo was taken shortly after sunrise from the surf in Montauk Point, New York. The difficulty of getting this shot in the surf from this angle was that it had to be taken from the water. It was hard setting up the tripod and maneuvering over the slippery rocks. Several times I almost fell into the water with my camera. Luckily, I was able to get my balance before losing all my gear! Next time I’ll have to remember to wear the proper water shoes. Your bare feet are no match for slimy rocks!

I took three exposures at ( -2,0,+2) on my Manfrotto tripod using my Canon 17-40mm “L” lens with my Canon 5D Mark II camera. Processed in Photomatix 4, Lighroom and Photoshop CS-5 . Detail and color processing in Topaz Adjust.
